February Review 06
Early this morning the phone jangled in impatience.  Wondering who could be calling, Mom hurried over and grabbed the receiver,
“Hello?”
“WE GOT OUR MATCH!!!”  With happiness ringing in every part of her voice, Mom and her dear friend rapidly chattered about the new member of the family, adorable little Mercy.  And at the same moment a Chinese baby snuggles in her crib a little more securely as she waits for her daddy and mommy to come bring her home.  Congratulations to the Robidoux Family and their new little girl Mercy!
Bedell Adoption Story—
After watching the DVD, the Bedell’s knew that their lives would never be the same.  They wanted to adopt!  Here’s their story.

BMH—What made you consider adoption?

Bedell Family—     We've been open to having a 3rd child, but truly had decided that if it didn't happen naturally, that we wouldn't pursue any "extraordinary measures" - ie, fertility treatments (b/c I'm in my late 40's) or adoption.   When we saw the (Bring Me Hope) DVD, God just spoke to my heart (& eventually my husband's!) and we knew it was just the right thing to do!  As we've gone through the process of acquiring the needed funds, and getting all the paperwork done, we, also, feel very affirmed as the process has gone very smoothly (in the midst of our hectic lives!)

BMH—When will or did you bring your child home?

Bedell Family—We hope to bring our new little one home late summer or early fall – all depends on China's timeline!

BMH— What will her name be?

Bedell Family—We might change it, but right now we're leaning towards "Jasmine"!!

BMH— How has Bring Me Hope affected your adoption?

Bedell Family— Bring Me Hope was the inspiration used by the Holy Spirit to turn our hearts and eyes towards adopting a Chinese girl!

From David—
Beijing Olympics, An opportunity that will only come once in our lifetime.

I came home last night after a 17-day trip to Torino.  I knew that I needed to be there and find opportunities to help the orphans during the next Olympics, but I didn’t know anyone.  I couldn’t escape the feeling of being alone as I walked through the city by myself or came back to a bedroom with no one to talk too.  A friend back home who heard about how I felt said, “This must be how the orphans feel.”  From then on when I felt a wave of loneliness wash over me I rejoiced in the feeling because in a small way I could better understand how millions of children feel.

After several days things got much better.  I was able to meet with Olympic athletes and organizations about the Bring Me Hope summer camp.  I firmly believe that we have the opportunity of a lifetime to help Chinese orphans during the Beijing Olympics in 2008.  Mark your calendar and join us and Olympic athletes in Beijing, 2008!

An Interesting fact for the scholars! —

Every afternoon at 12:00 pm something wonderful happens in China.  Not only to the rich and elite but also to the poor, and anyone who’s in their right mind!  Want to know?  A Nap!  It’s true, for two, three, or even (for the lazy) four hours pass in blissful pleasure every day at high noon.  Now why didn’t America ever establish that tradition?  Maybe once our Nation reaches several thousand years old we will figure out the wisdom in daily naps for the old folks (and young adults I might add)!
GET INVOLVED… You don’t have to go to China to help orphans!
