2008 Volunteer Information:

Cost:
Camp Fee: $1,000 for two weeks and $750 for one week. Camp fee does not include: Plane ticket, visa, passport, weekend activities or spending money.

Deadlines:
Applications, Camp Fees, Reference forms and Release forms are all due June 1st. Please contact the BMH office if you cannot make this deadline (760) 723-5885.

Locations:
Bring Me Hope will be running camps in Beijing and Nanchang. In the application, select which location you would like to attend.

Volunteer Specifications:
You must be 18 or older, or accompanied by a guardian age 25 or older. Please contact the BMH office for exceptions. (760) 723-5885

China Training:
Training will consist of three mandatory conference calls before leaving for China. These will prepare the volunteer for their time with the orphans, the Chinese culture, and working with a team. After you apply, we will email you with information about the training conference calls.

Purchasing Plane Tickets:
Volunteers are responsible for booking their own plane ticket. BMH staff will pick volunteers up at the airport or hotel on Sunday prior to camp and drop them off at the airport or hotel on the Saturday following camp.

Passport and Visa:
You will need a passport and a Chinese visa to enter China. Please apply for your passport as soon as you decide to go to China. Your post office should be able to help you. You can get your Chinese visa through a travel agent or the Chinese consulate (located in most major cities). Bring Me Hope will email you the necessary information or your visa application.

The Olympics and Touring:
The weekends will provide an opportunity for volunteers to connect with and tour the city where they are located. Volunteers can visit the Olympic Games and tour China before or after their time at camp.
